Losing Baby Weight Without Losing Your Mind
Losing the baby weight is often a struggle.
These pages contain great postpartum weight loss advice, so you don't lose your mind while trying to lose weight after pregnancy.
Let’s face it, having a baby is complicated…
it is exciting, frustrating, scary, and totally amazing!
Whether you are just welcoming your little bundle of joy, or blowing out those first birthday candles, having a baby is a huge adjustment for your family and your body!

Are you wondering if you will ever lose the baby weight and look the way you once did…before having kids? Do you look in the mirror and feel like you’re looking at a stranger?
Fear not! The following pages will guide you in your postpartum weight loss, and hopefully help to give you some perspective.
The most important tip to help you lose weight after pregancy is...
PATIENCE
Practicing patience has been something very difficult for me to learn, but
patience is essential when losing weight after pregnancy.
Especially for getting through those first few months…or maybe even the first year after you have your baby.
You know the old saying: 9 months up, 9 months down… people are still saying it for a reason. Do you have a weightloss story to share? Click here.
I'll use my personal experience and research to help you through the postpartum period.
Check out my advice for managing those first few days of your post partum recovery.
I'll give you advice about what to expect and how to take care of your body in those first few days.
And, I'll go on to share more advice for new moms for the first six to eight weeks postpartum.
Be patient with your postpartum weightloss, it will REALLY make a difference in how you look and feel.

But, what about all those women who lose the baby weight so fast?
Please don’t be discouraged with the celebrities you see who are featured in magazines with headlines like “how I lost weight after pregnancy: 10 pounds in 2 days” or “how I lost my baby weight in 4 weeks”.
This is completely unrealistic…unless you were just born lucky.
Celebrities have chefs, trainers, state-of-the-art gyms, nannies, and lots of money. Sometimes they even have cosmetic surgery which, they forget to mention.
It can also be unhealthy to push yourself to your physical limit so soon after having a baby. Childbirth and pregnancy are tough. Your body has been through A LOT. Give yourself a break for a little while and take it slow.
It is okay (and perfectly normal) if you don't look like a supermodel when you are walking in for your 6 week checkup.
Perhaps you have a friend or relative who is telling you how they lost all the baby weight in no time! In fact she wore her size 2 jeans home from the hospital. First, you should probably see if you can get your baby to spit up on her. Second, remember that this person is either :
A) Genetically blessed
B) Delusional
You can’t compete with either of those things, so please don’t try.
Want to know how to get back to your pre-pregnancy figure?
First, you need to read this to learn the most important exercise to do after having a baby!
It is extremely important for you to read this. It will benefit you dramatically in your postpartum recovery.
Next, you need to start my postpartum workout series. There are three phases of exercises, each geared towards the phases of your recovery.
Phase one is the first stage of your recovery and offers great fitness advice for women recovering from childbirth.
This is the first step in helping your body heal, and helping you regain strength. Don't worry, these exercises are very basic and can be done as soon as 24 hours after delivery.
The next set of exercises are geared towards the second phase of your recovery, and will get your body ready to lose baby weight safely.
These exercises are definitely a step up from phase one. They are designed to help you increase the stability of your core. This is important because pregnancy has a way of really stretching out those belly muscles.
The last phase is the most challenging of my postpartum workouts for women, and should only be attempted once you have mastered phases one and two.
If you want your pre-pregnancy jeans to fit, or maybe even to have those washboard abs back...you better do these exercises. These are exercises that will really challenge your abs.
Once you've mastered the exercises in my postpartum exercise program, check out even more great ab exercises here.
All of these exercises are an important part of your recovery and will help you to regain you pre-pregnancy figure.
Once you've mastered the basics an have improved your core strength you can start to consider more intense activities such as jogging for weight loss.
So, what is the take-home message?
First of all, for most women, the baby weight does not "just fall off". You've gotta put in some effort if you want results.
And, Second...
It is my highly educated opinion that your body is gonna do whatever it’s gonna do in those first 6 or 8 weeks post partum. This is especially true if you’re breastfeeding, but that’s a whole other story.
If you’re one of those really lucky gals that the baby weight just falls off of...great! However, odds are, you won’t be. Don’t beat yourself up if that’s not you. You need put in the effort, but also use common sense, and have some patience.
Remember, there are a whole slew of hormones and physiological events going on that you really don’t have much control over. I don't know about you, but I found that all those hormones combined with sleep deprivation made me a bit nutty for a while.

Joking aside, postpartum depression is a very serious topic. I found that a sense of humor was essential to help me deal with it. To learn about the signs of postpartum depression click here. If you need support, please feel free to

The bottom line...
Taking good care of yourself will help the weight take care of itself.
